Developed in-house by Wuhan Forward Technology, the unmanned system for scraper reclaimers and tripper cars in C-type stockyards is an intelligent solution designed specifically for raw material yards in the iron and steel metallurgical industry. The system deeply integrates 3D laser scanning imaging, high-precision Gray bus positioning, and automatic control technologies to enable remote, unattended operation of heavy-duty tripper cars and semi-portal scraper reclaimers. By building a digital stockyard platform, the system performs real-time 3D modeling and inventory management of stockpiles. On this basis, it automatically handles equipment positioning, stacking, reclaiming, and flow control. Operators can monitor and manage the entire process from the central control room, completely transforming the traditional manual on-board operation model and driving the intelligent upgrade of raw material yards.
1. High-Precision Gray Bus Positioning System
Utilizing non-contact Gray bus technology, this system delivers real-time position detection of tripper cars and reclaimers with millimeter-level accuracy (1 mm), providing a precise coordinate reference for automatic operations.
2. 3D Laser Scanning Imaging
High-performance laser scanners mounted on the stacking and reclaiming equipment perform real-time scanning of the stockpiles, generating a 3D point cloud model and automatically identifying critical parameters such as pile height, width, and boundaries.
3. Automatic Stacking and Reclaiming Control Model
Based on 3D stockpile data and equipment positioning information, intelligent control algorithms have been developed to achieve automatic positioning and layer-by-layer stacking during the stacking process, as well as automatic layer opening, layer switching, inching, and constant flow control during reclaiming.
4. Redundant Network Communication
A communication architecture with wired fiber optics and industrial wireless APs in hot standby supports the Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP). This ensures zero packet loss and uninterrupted transmission of control commands and video data while equipment is in motion.
5. Digital Stockyard Management Platform
This platform integrates 3D visualization of stockpiles, automatic stocktaking, job scheduling, and equipment status monitoring, enabling digital and refined management of the raw material yard.
6. Multi-Level Safety Protection
Multiple protective measures, including laser ranging, ultrasonic anti-collision, and PLC soft limits, prevent collisions between equipment and between equipment and stockpiles, ensuring the safety of unmanned operations.
Enables Unmanned Operation
Liberates operators from harsh, physically demanding on-board cabs. The entire stacking and reclaiming process is controlled remotely from the central control room, significantly reducing labor costs.
Boosts Operational Efficiency
Automatic positioning, layer switching, and constant-flow reclaiming keep the equipment running at its optimal state, avoiding the efficiency fluctuations of manual operation and achieving stable 24/7 continuous operation.
Ensures Operational Safety
Multi-level anti-collision protection, real-time equipment monitoring, and automatic alarm and shutdown upon abnormalities effectively prevent accidents such as equipment collisions, scraper jams, and belt overload.
Achieves Refined Management
Laser-based automatic stocktaking generates accurate inventory data, while complete operational records are traceable, providing reliable data support for production scheduling and material management and preventing material mixing and waste.
Optimizes Yard Utilization
Scientific stacking strategies and 3D visualization enable rational planning of storage areas, significantly improving space utilization.
Adapts to Harsh Environments
Core equipment features a high protection rating with dust-proof, corrosion-resistant, and temperature-resistant properties, ensuring long-term stable operation in dusty, humid, and corrosive gas environments.
The system is primarily designed for raw material yards (C-type stockyards) in the iron and steel metallurgical industry, and is ideally suited for the storage, transfer, and feeding of bulk materials such as iron ore concentrate. Its technical solutions are equally applicable to bulk material handling sites in the power, port, cement, and chemical industries where large stackers and reclaimers require automated operation.
