Wuhan Forward Technology deployed an unmanned stacker-reclaimer system for a large steel sintering plant's C-Type yard, retrofitting 2 stackers and 2 reclaimers. Core technologies include our independently developed Gray code positioning and 3D laser imaging systems, integrated with radar level sensors and redundant communication networks, all driven by our proprietary control platform. The system supports fully automatic, semi-automatic and remote manual modes. On-board operators have been removed; only 1‑2 personnel monitor operations from the central control room. Equipment automatically handles positioning, stacking, reclaiming, layer changing and pile switching. Real-time inventory data is available and management efficiency has significantly improved.
Wuhan Forward Technology has supplied Gray code positioning systems for 19 overhead cranes across 10 bays for the Algeria cold rolling mill project. The core equipment has arrived safely at the project site. The shipment was dispatched on December 1 last year, and this June, our electrical engineers arrived on site and started installation and commissioning. The project is running smoothly, showing the reliability and competitiveness of Chinese industrial technology on international production lines.
A port bulk terminal upgraded its stacker-reclaimer positioning system with Gray code busbar technology from Wuhan Forward Technology. The system detects both travel position along the track and boom slew angle with 1mm accuracy and no cumulative drift. The non-contact design eliminates wear and maintenance, with a 10+ year service life. Operators now monitor real-time equipment position and attitude from the control room, providing a reliable foundation for remote operation and automation.
